Experience
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Walker was a manager in the international tax practice of Price Waterhouse, LLP.  While based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Walker focused on providing worldwide planning solutions for such multinationals as Rockwell International, ALCOA, Alcoa-Fujikura Ltd., FORE Systems, PPG Industries and Shell Oil.  Before joining Price Waterhouse in 1994, Mr. Walker worked in the Memphis, Tennessee office of Arthur Andersen & Co. where he consulted on such tax clients as Holiday Inns, Federal Express, Systematics (ALLTEL), Promus Companies (Hilton), and Fukoku Mutual Life Insurance Co.

Since joining Thompson Dunavant PLC in 1996, Mr. Walker has provided a broad array of transfer pricing, tax planning and compliance services for companies expanding or restructuring operations in the European Union, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Australia, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, India and most of South America.  Mr. Walker has also worked with many offshore companies looking to establish operations in the U.S.  He has assisted investors from Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Switzerland, and many other countries.  Some of Mr. Walker’s publicly owned clients include Federal Express, Cameron Corporation, Mueller Industries, Buckeye Technologies, Grant PrideCo and Wright Medical Technology.

Professional Affiliations
Mr. Walker is a current member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Mr. Walker has served a two-year term as a member of the advisory group to the national AICPA International Taxation Committee.  Mr. Walker was appointed by the State and served a three term on the Tennessee Workforce Development Board and the Tennessee Biotechnology Taskforce.  Mr. Walker is currently on the board of Trustees and Treasurer of the Tennessee Federal Tax Institute.  He is currently certified to practice public accountancy in the state of Tennessee.
